My husband say "He is very proud of me!"

Yeah!!! Yesterday, my husband said that he is very proud of me. Of course, he will not simply praise me. We were on the topic of breastfeeding and baby related which we discussed a lot when we are in the car.

Ivan said: "B, I am proud of you because you had successfully breastfed Annabelle for the last 6 months." Wow... I felt so pleased and felt so sweet to hear that.

I still remembered that during the first two weeks after Annabelle is born, I was really down and blue. Everything seems not working well, from breastfeeding, changing diaper, burping to the pain that I felt on my wound. I shed so much of tears and every day is a challenge for me. I bet many mummies experience the so called postpartum depression, I guess I was not in that category but I recalled that that period was very tough and I wouldn't be able to go through without my husband. My darling is really encouraging, he said this to me one day after the Annabelle's full moon, "B, yeah! You had breastfed Annabelle for one month! See I know you can do it!"

Talking about breastfeeding, my supply of milk was not and is not a lot as others; but I told myself that I will continue breastfeeding Annabelle till the day my supply is out and stop. I guess besides my husband, they are many people around me that are very supportive and had given me many guidelines and insight on breastfeeding. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. :)

A rabbit baby or tiger baby?

4 Aug 2011 is her birthday. She was born in the year of rabbit. But why sounded like tiger? Hmm.. wondering!

Just two weeks ago, Annabelle like to gerrr... gerr... like a tiger. I always tell her, "Baby, you were born in the year of rabbit, why you sounded like tiger?"

Oh yes, this video also feature some of the crawling moment. She is so quick. She just mastered how to climb one step from the ground (as you can see from the movie). The parents are happy with that but we are aware that we need to get a safety gate as the soonest.

This is also her hobby for now. Each time, when we are at the dining table; she seems to know that and the next thing I know she is at the step. I have to pause, carry her back to the playmat; this action will normally repeated for couple of 3 times during the course of dinner.

As my mother in law said, the parents going to get busy, tails Annabelle... crawling like Annabelle crawls...

Annabelle is teething!

So fast! This is what everyone tell me when I told them that Annabelle is teething. Last Friday, my babysitter told me that she was a little fussy at the daycare; she also told me that Annabelle is probably teething as she can sense the lower gum is a little rough when she clean her tongue.

On the Saturday, I checked on it by myself. True enough, I can see there are two tiny teeth buds starting to develop on the lower front of the mouth. It is so amazing! I couldn't take any photographs because naughty Annabelle refused to show it and kept her lips tight (she thought that I am cleaning her tongue which she hated the most.)

As I was reading some symptoms of teething, Annabelle has the following:

  • Drooling (Yes)
  • Gum swelling and sensitivity (So far, the gum is a little rough)
  • Irritability or fussiness (A little)
  • Biting behavior (Oh yes, every and anything she grab hold, she will bite)
  • Refusing food (Praise God, so far she is feeding well)
  • Sleep problems (Sort of a little, she wake up more often for the past couple of nights)

  • With advice from my colleague, Helen, I actually bought the teething biscuit about a month ago. I have decided to let her have it over the weekend. She was so excited on it. I managed to snap a photo on it.

By the way, as teething is an important milestones in her development; and I know the 20 baby teeth will emerge slowly one by one, I will patiently wait for all of them to come true :) I have also decided to print out the teething chart to record these beautiful moment.

We had an enjoyable 2012 Chop Goh Mei

This year Chop Goh Mei falls on a holiday. Ivan has volunteered to prepare some Indian dishes to celebrate this event. We have decided to prepare "sweetie" tomatoes rice, "with love"chicken curry, "best"mutton curry and "Chop Goh Mei"salad. In order for us to be able to leave to my sister house on time, we started the cooking early. I was not able to help him much as I need to take care of Annabelle. Ivan prepared everything from cutting, seasoning, cooking, decorating, dishing, packing to delivering. I am so proud of him.

When we reached my sister house, the kids started to "dig" into the rice. Mum started feeding Lik Hwang, Sarah and Kylie with a common bowl, each spoon full of rice is fed to each of them; mum had to refill the bowl 3 times. You can imagine how nice the rice is. Instead of fork and spoon, mum enjoyed the food using her hand... Walla.... Then, all my sisters started to have their feast followed by the men. My father loved the mutton so much, my brother in law were every impressed with his cooking too. I can see smile on every's smile, so happy to see them full.

After food, the children were entertained with bubble blowing game at the garage. It is Annabelle's first encounter of bubble game and she enjoyed looking at the cousin's in action and she will laugh when everyone laugh. We then proceed on to the nearby playground. Yes! Again, it is Annabelle first time to a playground though she been for a walk at a park nearby our area. She had her first experience on a slide, on a see saw, on the swing with the mummy. Wow, you should check out her excitement on her face. In fact, all of us enjoyed ourselves.

As Ivan always said: "I will cook for my loved one. When they are full and happy with the food, I am happy!"

Darling, thank you so much for cooking for us. We love you... please cook more often... :p

    I am sitting unsupported

A week after the CNY, Annabelle can sit up unsupported. Being a worried mummy, I tend to put my hand around her and hold her a little to refrain her falling on her back; you know what Annabelle did, she pushed my hand away... If she could speak, I think this is what she is trying to tell me: "I can sit up by myself. Is okay, mummy! Do not need to hold me...".

Actually, we are so happy and proud that Annabelle is moving on her development milestones pretty fast. We enjoyed seeing her progress. We loves to taking video and photo on all these special moments before it past.

Annabelle, you did well... Good job!!!

2012 Chinese New Year :) Happy Feeling

I waited eagerly for this Chinese New Year. Usually I was not that desparate, I guess reason being; this year CNY I have our "papa princes, mummy annabelle girl" to celebrate with us. I remembered clearly, I was only 16 weeks into my pregnancy for last year CNY; but the feeling of having her to celebrate this year CNY is so joyful, satisfying and one more word HAPPY!!!
This is what I meant!!! 满足 & 幸福 (Satisfy & Bless)

My "ang ang" Chinese New Year costume
To welcome the CNY, we got many pieces of new dresses/ clothes for Annabelle. One of the most important thing, the papa insisted to get her a traditional CNY blouse (an "ang ang"~ red red one) too. On the eve of CNY, we got ready her ang pau (our very first ang pau to her). I tell you, the feeling of giving ang pau to others is so different as compared to a mother and father giving to their own children. There is a chinese word to it 满足 & 幸福.

It is our culture many years ago, we need to wish our parents during CNY before we receive ang pau from them. So, this year; since all my sisters are coming back for reunion regathering on the 2nd day of CNY, we had our wishing session 拜年 that day then. Of course, this year; we are blessed to be able to carry Annabelle in our arm, wishing our parents and receive ang pau from them. The feeling of it is really at the top of the world.
"Gong Gong & Popo, Gong Xi Fai Cai..."

We also pay visit to our relatives during CNY. On the 3rd day of CNY, we visited our relatives from my mother's site. All my uncle and aunties were so excited and happy to see Annabelle. Annabelle got so many ang pau from them too. On the 4th day then, we visited our grandparents in Setapak. Though it is a short visit, I think it is a nice experience for the us and children to be able to spend some time with the old and elderly. It is all CNY is about...

A photo with our grandparents/ greatgrandparents (for the kids)

Seeing everyone's laugh, smile and joke in the house, I felt I am definately gifted with a good family. We bond really well. We take every opportunity to gather, though the man in the house "communicated" on the manjung table, I really enjoy the time spend with my family members during CNY.
    Happy Family

    祝大家新年快快乐乐,身体健康。
    小孩们快高长大。。。
